Ghostless is a nostalgia-driven classic pixel-art RPG.
In this dark cozy game, nostalgia itself becomes a trap that can swallow your mind piece by piece.
GAMEPLAY
Explore your hometown and talk to the people you left behind.
They’ll have their own memories of you and their own interwoven stories, in a rich tapestry of characters that populated your former life.
Investigate objects and uncover secrets. Repair or sabotage relationships. Tell white lies or brutal truths. Confront what you’ve left behind and what it’s become without you.
Branching dialogue choices, powered by yarn, can steer your story in vastly different directions.
But: Beware the ghosts!
Based on your choices, ghosts will spawn or vanish over the course of your adventure. Those ghosts will hover around you, slowly sapping your health.
Your goal: Resolve the stories you left behind you, sell your dad’s house, find a place of safety within yourself, and walk away GHOSTLESS.

STORY
Home was a place you didn’t want to see again. You grew up in a town defined by its decline: the tech boom killed local industry in a slow bleed that left behind it a stagnant and incurious town bent on survival, rather than living.
You were determined to live. You were one of only a handful of students who went on to university. You achieved your dreams. You became a writer. Your novels reliably grace bestseller lists and your most recent advance means, for the first time ever, you truly will not have to worry about money ever again.
But now, you’ve come back to help your sister pack up the family home, on the anniversary of your father’s death. Confronting the strained relationship with your sister and memories of a less-than-happy childhood, you find that all the achievements of your life outside isn’t enough to insulate you from what you left behind you.
You were prepared for this ghost of a place to stifle your creativity, to depress you and remind you of everything you escaped.
What you didn’t expect were the literal ghosts.
No one else can see the ghosts as they appear and trail you through town. Tell enough lies, hide enough pain, and the ghosts gather silently around you.
Slowly, they deplete you, your confidence and ability to function normally. They can limit what you can say or how well you can manage interactions.
Can you make this return a way to heal yourself, before the ghosts devour you?
